How We Tested BritPool
We’re serious about both the integrity and performance of our mining pool. This page documents how we’ve tested the pool to give you confidence that it will be both performant and give you 100% of any block rewards you find.
Test Strategy
We conducted two tests over two days in August 2026. The objectives of these tests were:
Pool Validation – to independently verify that BritPool’s advertised 0% pool fee is genuinely enforced at the block-reward level, using the same pool software and configuration that runs in production.
Infrastructure Validation – a test of BritPool’s public-facing network path, to include DNS routing, firewall configuration, and real-world latency. This second test was also designed to reconfirm the 0% pool fee under genuine real-difficulty mining conditions, using a miner connecting from the open internet.
Test completion reports were produced for both tests. These reports set out in full the methodology used and the results achieved, along with supporting evidence. These reports, along with a summary for each, have been provided below.
Test Results
The objectives of both the Pool and Infrastructure Validation exercises were met in full.
Pool Validation (regtest)
An isolated Bitcoin Cash regtest environment was setup mirroring BritPool's production setup. The miner connected to the test pool, submitted a valid share, and the pool successfully solved and submitted a block to the test network. The resulting Coinbase transaction paid the entire reward to the miner's BCH address, validating the 100% reward mechanic of the pool.
Infrastructure Validation (testnet4)
A test environment was built on Bitcoin Cash's testnet4 mirroring the main network's difficulty and peer behaviour. The pool's stratum port was opened using the same security pattern as the production pool. A UK-based miner was rented and its latency observed as performant. The rented hardware solved three blocks and 100% of the rewards were paid to the miner.
